George A. Romero

George A. Romero

More than any monster, zombie, or slasher, the most requested portrait has been hands down George A. Romero.

Well here he is!

George Andrew Romero was born February 4, 1940 in New York City to a Cuban-American father and a Lithuanian-American mother.

Romero directed 1968's Night of the Living Dead based on a script he co-wrote with John A. Russo. NOTLD of course went on to become defining moment for modern horror cinema, and has so far spawned 5 sequels; "Dawn of the Dead", "Day of the Dead", "Land of the Dead", "Diary of the Dead", and the as yet unnamed new Dead movie currently filming in Port Dover, Ontario.

An interesting piece of trivia:
One of his early commercial films, was a segment for Mister Rogers' Neighborhood in which Mr. Rogers underwent a tonsillectomy.

Prints and cards are available in the store.
