Fright Night Film Fest 2008 Report

The ScOttRa Monster Art Booth

Wow! What a blast. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth, it was really great to meet all of you. And a HUGE thanks to all of our customers, I've said it before but its true, without you it wouldn't be possible for us to make these trips. So thanks again!

It was awesome to meet fellow Deviant Artist Chops; if you haven't checked his stuff out do yourself a favor and do so asap! I wish I had an ounce of the creativity his stuff oozes.Clickity Click!

The creepiest thing I saw by far over the weekend happened while I was eating dinner at Friday's, my wife said "My God, look behind you!" I turned and saw this face staring back at me... Right at eye level.

While we were at the restaurant Danielle Harris came in by herself seeking some downtime from the convention, but was immediately set upon by an restaurant employee. He sat at her table and despite her best efforts just plain wasn't getting the hint. My wife went over and asked if she'd like us to escort her back to the hotel and she jumped at the chance. It was a bizarre sensation to look over and see Danielle Harris sitting in the passenger seat of my crappy ford focus with the busted windshield. The next day she was nice enough to give us an autographed picture that says "Thanks for saving me!"

Our room had a balcony right off of the patio, and we had the best seats in the house to watch The Reggie Banister Band put on an amazing show.Horrible picture of Reggie Banister.

Will Wood from Lone Wolf Body Art was a really great guy, and he was nice enough to trade a few prints for a tattoo.

Will also did this kick ass Basil Gogos Frankenstein tattoo for a fellow vendor.

Dick Warlock and Angus Scrimm pose with ScOttRa Monster Art portraits.

One of the coolest things that happened over the weekend was the chance to donate to the silent auction for the Make A Wish Foundation. We were able to donate a few portraits, our Jason portrait was signed by Kane Hodder, C.J. Graham, Steve Dash, Richard Brooker, and Catherine Parks. Our portrait of The Tall Man was signed by Angus Scrimm Reggie Banister, and A. Michael Baldwin. And last but not least our Michael Myers portrait was signed by Danielle Harris, Dick Warlock, Tommy Lee Jones, Charles Cyphers, Brian Andrews, and John Michael Graham.

We were able to help raise quite a bit of money, so to all of you who bid on our items thanks for helping out!

We had a great time, and I want to give a few quick shout outs:
It was a pleasure to meet the Scars Magazine crew, I'm really looking forward to working with them!

It an unexpected pleasure to run into Jason Payne, what a treat to run into a fellow Christian/Horror fan at a convention.

Joel Robinson was kind enough to trade a few prints.

We were lucky enough to have a table right next to fellow Scary Monsters Magazine writer Robert Freese; what a gent! Be sure to check out his website: www.robertfreese.com

We had a wonderful time, can't wait for HorrorHound Weekend Detroit in October! Thanks again to all of those that made the Fright Night Film Fest such a success!

Looks like you had too much fun Rob! I need to pick your brain soon about getting a booth together, there is FINALLY gonna be a horror themed event here in Utah, and I have been asked to be the featured artist at the show... gotta get some merch and all that jazz ready to go.
