Jason Voorhees

Jason Voorhees as portrayed by Ted White in 1984's "Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter" directed by Joseph Zito.

Okay, so this one was just painfully obvious, but who else are you gonna post on Friday The 13th?

Be sure to mouse over the image for a special surprise!

What can I say about Jason... As bad as the Friday the 13th series was/is Jason still holds a place in my heart. Maybe its because this is when I was coming up, and his image always brings back fond memories of discovering Fangoria magazine and convincing my Mom to let me go to rated R movies.

Maybe I could relate to being the ugly dumb kid who was ignored by the older kids and made fun of by his peers... Whatever the case may be, I have always felt sorry for Jason. Sadly no filmmaker has ever delved into what makes him tick, but I always felt he wore the mask to hide his shame of being ugly rather then to intimidate his victims...

Then again, maybe I'm just reading to much into these fun dumb slasher films.

My favorite of the series has always been "The Final Chapter" with fantastic effects by master artist Tom Savini, the machete slide still gets me to this day. Not to mention Corey Feldman's masterful performance as Tommy. And the great Crispin Glover! What more could you want?

I addition to being Friday the 13th, it is also International Horror Day, check out the Horror Day website for more details!

As always you can purchase limited edition signed and numbered prints of this or any of my work by visiting my store. Either portrait of Jason is available individually or as a specially priced set.

Be sure to stop back in on Monday, when I will begin posting new portraits everyday right up to Halloween!
