The Tall Man

Angus Scrimm as The Tall Man from Don Coscarelli's "Phantasm"

Angus Scrimm was born Lawrence Rory Guy onAugust 19, 1926 in Kansas City, Kansas. Before finding his carrer in acting he was originally a journalist, and wrote liner notes for many LPs and CDs for artists ranging from Frank Sinatra to the Beatles, as well as Arthur Rubinstein and Itzhak Perlman. His liner notes have been nominated 5 times for the Grammy Award, And in 1975 he was finally awarded the trophey (as Rory Guy) for his liner notes to Korngold: The Classic Erich Wolfgang Korngold.

The genesis of the story came to Don Coscarelli in a dream. One night, being in his late teens, he dreamed of fleeing down endlessly long marble corridors, pursued by a chrome sphere intent on penetrating his skull with a wicked needle. There was also a quite futuristic "sphere dispenser" out of which the orbs would emerge and begin chase.

Angus will be appearing at this years Fright Night Film Fest in Louisville, KY August 15th —17th. We will also be at this years FNFF, so if you are in the area and will be attending the convention, be sure to stop by our table and say hi.

Thanks

Thanks to everyone who stopped by our table at Motor City Nightmares. We had a great time meeting all of you! And it was fantastic to hear from so many of you who visit the website regularly. (Now if I could just get you all to start leaving comments!) ;)

One thing I will never forget is using the urinal and looking over and seeing this guy standing next to me taking a leak... YIKES!

Here's Bill Hinzman with the portrait I did of him as The Graveyard Ghoul from Romero's "Night of the Living Dead."

Here's Kane Hodder with my portrait of Jason.

And here's my ugly mug with fellow Scary Monsters Magaine writer and artist Dr. Swave!

We met a lot of great people and made a few new friends, including Don from Slaughtered Lamb Studios, who was kind enough to hook me up with this amazing piece of artwork. Be sure to stop by his site and check out his amazing stuff!

And the guys from The Hurt Squad Horror Show. Be sure to head over to their site, where you can watch full length episodes for free! Keep an eye on their background in future episodes and see if you see any familiar art work hanging around!

And be sure to check out The Zombie Reporting Center It's an online community dedicated to the latest happenings in the world of the undead. Keep an eye out for your chance to win ScOttRa Monster Art portraits of Flyboy, The Graveyard Ghoul, and Tor Johnson.

I'd also like to give a shout out to Root Rot from Midnight Podcast as well as our neighbor for the weekend Chris Ringler, stop by his Wordpress Site and read a few of his amazing stories.

It was really great to meet everyone, and I'm sorry if I didn't mention someone. But I'd especially like to thank all the ScOttRa Monster Art customers who spent their hard earned cash on my stuff, I really couldn't afford to get out there and go to these events without you, I really appreciate it and I hope you are all happy with what you bought.

We are seriously considering trekking down to Kentucky for this year Fright Night Film Fest. So if any of you are from that area please keep an eye out for us.

And as far as the Motor City Area fans, be sure to stop by and see us at Horror Hound Weekend here in Ann Arbor.

Til then "Stay Creepy!"
