Count Orlok

As portrayed by Max Schreck in F.W. Murnau's 1922 classic Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens. This was the first film of the production company Prana-Film GmbH; it was also the last as they declared bankruptcy after Bram Stoker's estate—acting for his widow, Florence Stoker—sued for copyright infringement and won. The court ordered all existing prints of Nosferatu destroyed, but thankfully a number of copies of the film had already been distributed around the world and survived.

Leatherface

I can remember the very first time I ever heard of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I had spent the night at my friend David King's house and was having an amazing breakfast that included freshly squeezed orange juice that his Mom had made. We were sitting on their deck over looking the Colorado National Park and as I munched I was looking through a copy of Hoberman and Rosenbaum's Midnight Movies (being fascinated with the amazing imagery of David Lynch's Eraserhead even back then) and I came upon the chapter about TTCM. David's parents were very cool sci-fi folk, and David's Dad began to tell me all about the film, and how it was based on a true story. I went to bed that night with visions of lamps made from Human arms, and chairs made from bones. It would be another 12 years before I actually saw the film, and I haven't been able to make myself watch it since. Probably the most disturbing film I have ever seen.

Regan MacNeil

Here's the OTHER evil tool of satan named Regan. (I know, the spellings are different. But I couldn't resist.) Poor Linda Blair, she played the part so well that she could barley get a job afterward. The part of Regan was originally offered to actress Dana Plato, whose mother refused to allow her to take it, which is really to bad. I like to imagine Mr. Drummond dealing with his two newly adopted sons and his demon possessed daughter. Now that woudda been some television. While we are on the topic of The Exorcist, be sure to check out The Exorcist in 30 Seconds (And Re-Enacted by Bunnies)

Zombie

I can remember being terrified of this image when I was a kid. I think it is probably responsible for the fact that I still gag if I see a worm on the sidewalk after a rainstorm. I used the same technique I tried with the Creature from the Black Lagoon image, but I think it worked a lot better on this one... Anyway, here is Lucio Fulci's Zombie.

Wedding Day of the Dead

Today's post is a little different. A buddy of mine went and got himself hitched back in October and I was way to broke to buy a proper gift, So I ended up making this sculpture of the lucky groom and his new bride as Day of the Dead figures.

Gillman on the Prowl

The Creature. The poor Bastard. Who could blame him for going nuts over the lovely Julie Adams. This one came out a little sloppy, but the whole idea of this site was to keep making and posting work, so here it is. Wish I wouldda had the chance to see the film in 3D.

A Quick Sketch

A Quick and dirty sketch. I kept myself on a time limit, and I just plain ran out.

It Came From Tracing!

Lot's of cheating this time around! I traced the outline by hand (no cloning) in Painter and then filled it in freehand. But what the hey, I figured I'd post it anyway. Ladies and Gentlemen, An Invader from Mars.
